Registrations for Ganbina’s Jobs4U2 program are still open for 2024.

You must still register every year to continue accessing Ganbina’s education, employment and training services. Primary school registrations will close on March 15th, 2024. However secondary school applications, as well as employment and training programs will still be open for registrations after this date.

The Jobs4U2 program is divided into three programs, Jobs4U2 Education, Jobs4U2 Employment and Jobs4U2 Training.

The programs you are eligible for will depend on your age and what type of help you would like from Ganbina.

You are able to register for any program that you are eligible for.

If you are under the age of 16, your parent/legal guardian must register for you.

Here is a brief summary of each program and what help is available.

Jobs4U2 Education (5-18-years-old)

This program is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth aged 5-18-years-old who live in the Goulburn Valley. This program can support you with anything you are struggling with in school and your education goals.

Services in this program include:
– Access to a dedicate Project Officer to help you develop a tailored education plan aligned with your personal goals and needs
– Education scholarships for help with paying for items relating to your education, such as school uniforms, textbooks and excursions
– Free tutoring in English and Maths
– Ability to apply for the Youth Leadership Program (for Year 11 students)

Jobs4U2 Employment (age 15+)

This program is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth aged 15+ to help you find a job. Whether you are looking for a casual, after-school or are hoping to find, permanent full-time work in a career of your choice, we can help you.

Services in this program include:

– Help with getting essential ID documents such as a birth certificate, Tax File Number (TFN) and bank account
– Access to Ganbina’s Employment Academy, which offers help with writing your resume, job interview skills, access to job opportunities, networking opportunities with employers and much more
– Access to Industry Tours – tour a local Shepparton business to gain insight into different industries you may want to work in one day (these tours are only available to Year 7, 8 and 9 students)
– Annual Careers Night

Jobs4U2 Training (16-25-years-old)

This program is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth aged 16-25-years-old and helps you to develop the skills you need to enter the workforce and pursue your dream career.

Services in this program include:

– Help you to create a career vision
– Help with determining what further education e.g. TAFE or university study you may need to fulfill your career vision
– Help with applying for further education and training opportunities – access to universities and TAFE providers in both Shepparton and Melbourne
– Help with finding work experience
– Help with finding employment opportunities
